About

Boťany Castle, about which almost no historical records survive, was replaced between 1648 and 1650 by a Late Renaissance manor house.

Boťany Castle was a medieval structure located in the village of Boťany in what is now Slovakia. Historical sources are largely silent about it, and details concerning its origins, history, and eventual decline have not survived to the present day.

In the mid-17th century, between 1648 and 1650, a new manor house in the Late Renaissance style was erected on the site of the original castle. This new building replaced the older fortified residence and became the defining landmark of the village.
