About

Devín is a preserved castle ruin perched on a limestone cliff at the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers, forming part of the Bratislava borough of Devín.

Devín Castle rises on a limestone cliff at the edge of the Little Carpathians, at the confluence of the Morava and Danube rivers. This dramatic position between two great rivers gave the site immense strategic importance for centuries, making it one of the most significant guard posts in the entire region. Today the castle forms part of Bratislava, specifically the borough of Devín.

The ruins have been carefully preserved and restored for visitors, who can explore the surviving walls, tower and remnants of the living quarters while enjoying breathtaking views over both rivers and the surrounding landscape. Devín is one of the most visited historic landmarks in the vicinity of the Slovak capital.
