About
Kuchynský hrad consists of scant stone ruins hidden in the forests of the Little Carpathians on the hill Na varte near the Vývrat forester's lodge.
Kuchynský hrad is one of Slovakia's lesser-known medieval fortifications, its modest ruins tucked away in the forested landscape of the Little Carpathians. What remains of the castle sits atop a hill known as Na varte, rising near the forester's lodge of Vývrat on the edge of this mountain range.
Very little survives of the original structure today — visitors will find only sparse stone remnants overgrown with trees and dense vegetation. Nevertheless, the site offers a peaceful natural setting and a quiet reminder of the region's medieval past.
