About
The late Renaissance manor house in Malinovo, later remodelled in the classical style on the foundations of the medieval moated castle of Eberhard, is the dominant landmark of the village, surrounded by an English landscape park.
The manor house in Malinovo is one of the most remarkable landmarks in southwestern Slovakia. It was built on the site of the medieval castle of Eberhard, which was once protected by a water moat. On these historic foundations rose a late Renaissance structure that was later redesigned in the classical style during subsequent centuries.
Today the manor house forms the unmistakable centrepiece of the village of Malinovo. Its architectural significance is further enhanced by an expansive English landscape park that surrounds it on all sides, creating the picturesque setting characteristic of noble residences of its era.
