Smolenický kaštieľ
Slovakia
About
Smolenice Manor, a historic noble residence in the centre of Smolenice, was demolished in 2002 due to its irreparable state of decay.
Smolenice Manor, also referred to as the Lower Manor, once stood in the very heart of the village of Smolenice in the Trnava district. For centuries it served as a noble residence and was regarded as a significant architectural and cultural landmark in Slovakia.
Despite its historical importance, the building fell into severe disrepair over time. When it became clear that the ruins could no longer be saved, the structure was demolished in 2002, disappearing forever from the village landscape and leaving behind only the memory of what had once been a distinguished seat of the local nobility.
