Bardejovský hrad
Slovakia
About
Bardejov Castle is a vanished medieval fortress that once stood within the town of Bardejov in northeastern Slovakia.
Bardejov Castle was a medieval fortification that once stood proudly above the royal town of Bardejov in northeastern Slovakia. It formed an integral part of the town's defensive system and played a significant role in its history throughout the Middle Ages.
Over the centuries, the castle gradually fell into ruin and today virtually no visible remains survive above ground. Nevertheless, Bardejov itself remains an important cultural and tourist destination, with its well-preserved historic centre recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
