About
Bohunický hrádok is a ruined medieval fortification above the village of Bohunice, with only scattered wall fragments remaining on a hilltop at the foot of the Štiavnica Hills.
On a hill known as Hrádok, rising above the village of Bohunice at the foot of the Štiavnica Hills, the modest remains of a medieval fortification have survived to this day. Bohunický hrádok is one of many abandoned feudal residences in the region, leaving behind only fragments of walls overgrown with vegetation and barely distinguishable earthworks.
Although the castle has not been preserved in its complete form, its elevated position offers pleasant views of the surrounding landscape and continues to attract those with an interest in the medieval history of the area. The site makes for a rewarding destination for history enthusiasts and hikers who enjoy uncovering the hidden traces of the past scattered across Slovakia's highland terrain.
