About
Breznický Castle is a medieval ruin crowning the andesite hill of Hrádok above the village of Tekovská Breznica in the Štiavnica Hills.
Breznický Castle stands on the forested andesite hill known as Hrádok, situated along the outer reaches of the Štiavnica Hills. Perched directly above the village of Tekovská Breznica, the castle once enjoyed a commanding strategic position over the surrounding landscape.
Today, only modest ruins remain, yet they retain an air of mystery thanks to the dense woodland that envelops the entire hillside. Despite the limited state of preservation, Breznický Castle continues to draw enthusiasts of medieval history and castle architecture looking to explore this scenic corner of Slovakia.
