About
Gunda is the ruin of a fortified manor house hidden in the forests northeast of the village of Ostrá Lúka near Zvolen.
To the northeast of the village of Ostrá Lúka, not far from Zvolen, the remains of a fortified manor house known as Gunda lie hidden among dense woodland. This forgotten structure rests concealed between the trees, far from busy roads, and most visitors are entirely unaware of its existence.
Of what was once a sturdy residence, only ruins survive today, slowly being reclaimed by the surrounding nature. Despite its modest appearance, Gunda represents an interesting example of medieval fortified architecture in this part of Slovakia. For history enthusiasts and hikers seeking lesser-known heritage sites, a visit to this spot can prove to be a rewarding adventure.
