About
Litava is a castle whose scant remains are located about 20 km south-east of Krupina on the northern end of Pustý vrch hill, and which served as the historical predecessor of Čabraď Castle.
Litava Castle today survives only as a modest ruin of a once-important medieval stronghold. Its sparse remains lie roughly 20 kilometres south-east of Krupina, tucked among the hills of the Krupina Forest. The ruins occupy the northern tip of a long ridge known as Pustý vrch.
Historically, Litava served as the forerunner to the later Čabraď Castle. Although very little of the original structure has endured, even these humble remnants bear witness to the rich medieval heritage of the surrounding region.
