About
The restored Renaissance manor house in Oponice is situated at the foot of the Tríbeč mountains in the valley of the Nitra River.
The great manor house in Oponice stands in the very heart of the village, set within the broad valley of the Nitra River with the Tríbeč mountain range visible on the horizon. Originally a Renaissance structure, the building once also served as a fortified residence and today presents itself in a carefully restored form.
Following extensive renovation works, the manor has regained an appearance befitting its long and eventful history. Its location at the foot of the Tríbeč hills makes it particularly picturesque, ranking it among the notable historic landmarks of south-western Slovakia.
