Zrúcanina Šášov

The ruins of Šášov Castle rise above a steep cliff on the left bank of the Hron River, perched at the very edge of the Štiavnica Hills. This commanding position once provided its defenders with a strategic view over the entire valley while the river itself offered natural protection. The castle belongs administratively to the village of Šášovské Podhradie.
