About
Topoľčany Castle is an impressive ruin perched on a dolomite crag above the village of Podhradie, located in the eastern part of the Považský Inovec geomorphological unit.
Topoľčany Castle rises on a partly forested limestone crag directly above the village of Podhradie. Its commanding position offers sweeping views of the surrounding landscape and makes it an unmistakable landmark of the region. The dolomite rock on which the castle stands forms part of the eastern section of the Považský Inovec geomorphological unit.
Today the castle survives as a picturesque ruin that, despite the ravages of time, still impresses visitors with its scale and atmosphere. The combination of historical heritage and natural surroundings makes it a rewarding destination, and the climb to the castle rock is repaid with a beautiful panoramic view across the neighbouring hills and valleys.
