About

Remains of a medieval castle perched on an eleven-metre rock outcrop in the Zoltánka park in Tornaľa.

Hidden within the Zoltánka city park in Tornaľa lies a fascinating historical remnant — an eleven-metre-high rocky outcrop on which a medieval fortification once stood. Only modest ruins of this small castle have survived to the present day, yet the site continues to attract history enthusiasts and casual park visitors alike.

Even without its original structures, the rocky crag cuts an impressive figure and creates a striking contrast against the peaceful greenery of the surrounding park. Though the castle itself has long since disappeared, its natural stone base remains a silent witness to the medieval past of this town.
