About
The baroque manor house in Vidiná, near Lučenec, was built on the foundations of an older structure and sits in the alluvial plain of the Kriváň stream.
In the village of Vidiná, situated in the southern part of central Slovakia near the town of Lučenec, stands a baroque manor house with a rich and layered history. The building was constructed on the foundations of an earlier structure, the remains of which were incorporated into the later baroque reconstruction.
The manor is set within the alluvial floodplain of the Kriváň stream, giving it a picturesque natural setting. Its location in the lowland terrain of the southern Slovak region sets it apart from hilltop castles, yet it retains considerable architectural significance as a testimony to the noble culture that once flourished in this part of the country.
