About
Zelený hrad – a ruined castle with a well-preserved terrain relief north of Čebovce on the south-eastern edge of the Krupina Plateau.
Zelený hrad (Green Castle) is situated at a location known as Zámok, lying to the north of the village of Čebovce. The castle hill is accessible from the nearby village of Príbelce, and the site occupies the south-eastern edge of the Krupina Plateau, precisely where the valley of the Čebovský stream opens into the broad Ipeľ Basin.
All that remains of the former castle today are fragments of its perimeter walls and a distinctly rugged terrain relief that still hints at the original extent of the medieval fortification. Although the structure disappeared long ago, its traces in the landscape remain clearly legible, and the site retains a singular atmosphere of a forgotten past.
