Zámok Betliar

Betliar Manor is situated in the picturesque village of the same name, on the banks of the Slaná River, just under five kilometres north-west of Rožňava. Its roots stretch far back into the past – the oldest, southern section of the building was erected on the site of an original Gothic fortress, whose foundations served as the starting point for all subsequent construction.

Over the centuries the manor underwent gradual rebuilding and expansion, which gave it the character of a representative noble residence. Today it ranks among the most significant heritage sites in the region, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the world of Hungarian aristocracy.
