About

The manor house in Streda nad Bodrogom was built on the site of a medieval castle in the lowest-lying village of the East Slovak Lowland, amid the sandy dunes of the Bodrog Plain.

The village of Streda nad Bodrogom is situated in the heart of the East Slovak Lowland, in its southernmost and lowest-lying part. This small settlement spreads across the sandy dunes of the Bodrog Plain, which lend it a distinctive character and a unique natural landscape.

On the very site where a medieval castle once stood, a manor house was later constructed, and it remains the principal historic landmark of the village today. This building serves as a silent witness to the many centuries during which various historical eras and ruling dynasties succeeded one another here. The manor house thus bridges the medieval past with the architectural styles of later periods.
