About
The Renaissance manor house in Diviacka Nová Ves, located in the Nitra Valley beneath the Strážovské vrchy hills, was created by rebuilding a medieval Gothic stronghold.
In the picturesque village of Diviacka Nová Ves, nestled in the Nitra Valley beneath the slopes of the Strážovské vrchy hills, stands a remarkable building with a rich architectural history. Its origins reach back to the Middle Ages, when a fortified Gothic stronghold — a modest yet strategically well-positioned castle — was established on this site.
Over the centuries, the structure underwent a significant transformation. The original Gothic fortress was gradually rebuilt into a Renaissance manor house, acquiring a more elegant and representative character befitting the tastes and ambitions of the nobility of that era. This evolution reflects the typical development of a noble residence, gradually shifting from its defensive purpose toward more comfortable and refined living.
