About

In the village of Holumnica, the ruins of a noble residence stand on a gentle hill — a site historically misidentified as a castle.

On a gentle hill in the heart of the village of Holumnica, the remains of an ancient noble residence have survived to this day. In the past, this structure was mistakenly referred to as a castle, even though its character more closely resembled a noble manor house or curia.

Today, only modest ruins mark the site, yet they still evoke the rich history of this corner of the Spiš region. The location appeals not only to history enthusiasts but also to those seeking quiet, off-the-beaten-path heritage sites away from the main tourist routes.
