About
Kysak Castle is a medieval ruin situated northwest of the village of Kysak, overlooking the Hornád River valley on the site of an earlier hillfort.
Kysak Castle stands on a site with deep historical roots – before the medieval fortress was built, an older hillfort already occupied this strategic location. The ruins lie to the northwest of the village of Kysak, perched on a hill that rises above the picturesque valley of the Hornád River.
Only fragments of the original perimeter walls have survived to the present day, yet even these weathered remains testify to the castle's former extent. The surrounding natural landscape lends the site a distinctive atmosphere, making it an appealing destination for history enthusiasts and hikers alike.
