About
Ľubovniansky Castle is a partially preserved medieval fortress perched on a limestone crag above Stará Ľubovňa, dominating the Ľubovňa Basin.
Ľubovniansky Castle rises proudly on a limestone rock above the town of Stará Ľubovňa, forming one of the most striking landmarks of the Ľubovňa Basin. Its silhouette commands the landscape at the border of the Spiš-Šariš Highland, leaving a lasting impression on all who pass through this corner of northeastern Slovakia.
Although only partially preserved, the castle remains a compelling testament to the rich medieval history of the region. The surviving sections of the castle complex offer visitors a unique opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of bygone centuries while enjoying sweeping views across the surrounding countryside.
