About
In Podolínec, in the northern Poprad Basin, remnants of the town castle walls and a building standing on the site of the original fortification have been preserved.
Podolínec is a picturesque town located in the northern part of the Poprad Basin, situated roughly halfway between Kežmarok and Stará Ľubovňa. Its historic core conceals remarkable traces of medieval fortification architecture.
From the original town castle, remnants of the perimeter walls have survived to this day, bearing witness to the former importance of this fortified seat. On the site where the castle once stood, visitors can now admire an older building that carries the legacy of the rich history of this town at the foot of the Tatra Mountains.
