About

The manor house in Pozdišovce, south-west of Michalovce, is a remarkable structure combining Late Renaissance foundations with Classicist modifications and Neo-Gothic elements.

In the village of Pozdišovce, situated south-west of Michalovce, stands a manor house with a rich architectural history. Its origins date back to the Late Renaissance period, when the original structure was built with features characteristic of that stylistic era. Over the centuries, the manor underwent significant construction changes that fundamentally shaped its present-day appearance.

During later reconstructions, the building was remodelled in a Classicist spirit, giving it the refined and representative character typical of that architectural period. At the same time, the architects enriched the structure with Neo-Gothic elements, lending the manor a romantic quality and making it an interesting example of historical eclecticism. The result is a unique building that bears the traces of several stylistic periods and adds to the picturesque character of this East Slovak village.
