Vlková renesančný kaštieľ

Slovakia · Prešovský kraj

About

The Renaissance manor house in Vlková near Poprad was later remodelled in the Empire style and remains a significant historical landmark of the village.

In the eastern part of the village of Vlková, close to Poprad, stands a manor house that ranks among the notable heritage sites of the region. Originally constructed in the Renaissance style, the building underwent a significant transformation over the centuries, being remodelled in the Empire style, which gave it an entirely new architectural character.

The manor at Vlková is a fine example of how different historical periods can leave their mark on a single structure. The Renaissance foundations combined with the Empire-era remodelling bear witness to the changing tastes of the nobility who once inhabited and continuously reshaped the building according to the fashions of their time.
