About
The Bošany manor house stands on the foundations of a medieval fortified residence in the Tribeč foothills, approximately 6 km northeast of Topoľčany.
In the heart of the village of Bošany, nestled in the foothills of the Tribeč mountain range on the left bank of the Nitra River, stands a manor house that grew from the foundations of an older fortified residence. The village lies approximately six kilometres northeast of Topoľčany, and its gentle sub-montane setting lends the entire estate a tranquil and picturesque character.
The manor house itself is a fascinating example of how later noble architecture built upon earlier medieval structures. The original small fort provided a solid foundation on which a more expansive and representative building was subsequently erected. Thanks to this continuity of occupation, the site has retained an exceptional historical character that sets it apart from other manor houses in the region.
