Tematín is a picturesque medieval castle ruin set on a rocky spur of the Považský Inovec range near Nové Mesto nad Váhom.
Tematín is the ruin of a medieval castle perched on a rocky hilltop along a lateral ridge of the Považský Inovec mountain range. Administratively, it falls within the cadastral territory of the village of Hrádok, situated close to the town of Nové Mesto nad Váhom. Its position on a rocky spur once provided natural defences and commanding views over the surrounding landscape.
Today the castle serves primarily as a destination for hikers and history enthusiasts. Visitors can soak up the historic atmosphere among the surviving remnants of the castle walls while enjoying sweeping panoramic views across the Váh valley and the surrounding hills of Považský Inovec.
