About
The ruins of Vršatec Castle stand on limestone crags of the Vršatec Rocks, forming a dramatic landmark of the White Carpathians above the village of Vršatské Podhradie.
Vršatec Castle rises above the village of Vršatské Podhradie, perched dramatically on the limestone crags of the Vršatec Rocks — one of the most striking natural landmarks in the White Carpathians. The towering cliffs command sweeping views across the surrounding countryside.
Although the castle survives only as a ruin today, it retains an unmistakable medieval atmosphere. The rocky trail leading up to the site makes the visit as much a hiking adventure as a historical excursion. The surrounding rocky ridge is protected as a nature reserve, lending the entire area an exceptional and unspoilt character.
